Brazilian Spinach Fresh leaves

Brazilian spinach, also known as Sisso spinach, is a leafy green vegetable with thick, succulent leaves that resemble regular spinach in taste and texture. Although the leaves are similar in appearance to spinach, they are slightly thicker and have a distinct crunchiness. When Cooked Its texture is similar to that of okra, it is a versatile and flavorful ingredient that can add a unique twist to a variety of dishes.

Uses

Sisso spinach can be eaten raw in salads or cooked in various dishes, such as stews, soups, curries, and stir-fries, thrown into scrambled eggs, Blended into a smoothie to get those extra greens in!

Crustless Brazilian Spinach Quiche Recipe:

This crustless spinach quiche is perfect for a weekend breakfast

🧂Ingredients
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 medium onion, sliced
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 1 oz Garlic Chives chopped small
  • 1 Habanero Pepper Slice small
  • 8 oz. pkg. fresh Brazilian spinach, roughly chopped
  • 6 Farm eggs, beaten
  • 1/4 cup sour cream
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 cups feta cheese
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 2 tablespoons shaved Parmesan cheese
  • 1/4 teaspoon smoked paprika
📓Instructions
  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the sliced onions and minced garlic and sauté until the onions are translucent and softened (about 5 minutes).
  3. Add the chopped Brazilian spinach to the skillet and cook until wilted, stirring occasionally, about 3-4 minutes.
  4. Remove the skillet from heat and let the mixture cool slightly.
  5. In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the beaten eggs, sour cream, milk, kosher salt, black pepper, and smoked paprika.
  6. Add the cooled spinach mixture to the egg mixture and stir until well combined.
  7. Fold in the feta cheese and shredded mozzarella cheese.
  8. Pour the mixture into a 9-inch deep dish pie plate or a quiche dish.
  9. Sprinkle the shaved Parmesan cheese over the top.
  10. Bake for 35-40 minutes or until the quiche is set and the top is golden brown.
  11. Let the quiche cool for a few minutes before slicing and serving.

The price to rent the cabin is $95 per night for up to 2 adults and 2 children. To confirm your booking you must pay a 50% deposit. If we have the availability we'll send you a link to pay your deposit.
