📓 Recipe: Fried Okra Southern Style
🧂Ingredients
  • 8 oz fresh okra, cleaned, ends removed, and sliced
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 teaspoon Louisiana-style hot sauce (adjust to taste)
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • Salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 4 to 6 cups of oil for frying
  • Few garlic chives to garnish
📓Instructions
  1. In a bowl, combine the buttermilk and hot sauce. Add the sliced okra and toss to coat. Allow it to marinate for about 15 minutes.
  2. In a separate bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, salt, onion powder, paprika, garlic powder, and black pepper. Set aside.
  3. In a deep skillet or pot, heat the oil over medium-high heat
  4. Drain the marinated okra from the milk mixture and transfer it to the bowl with the seasoned flour. Toss the okra in the flour mixture until evenly coated.
  5. Carefully place the coated okra into the hot oil, making sure not to overcrowd the pan. Fry in batches if necessary.
  6. Fry the okra for about 3 to 4 minutes, or until it turns golden brown and crispy.
  7. Allow the fried okra to cool slightly before serving.

The price to rent the cabin is $95 per night for up to 2 adults and 2 children. To confirm your booking you must pay a 50% deposit. If we have the availability we'll send you a link to pay your deposit.
