The Dwarf Plantain ‘Curaré’ is a compact, robust cooking plantain cultivar ideal for smaller gardens, container growing, or for those who prefer a more manageable and easy to harvest plantain. This variety produces short, sturdy plants with tightly packed bunches of large-sized plantains with delicious yellow flesh.
The Curaré plantain was introduced by Facultad de Ciencias Agropecuarias de la Universidad de Panamá (FCA) due its excellent productivity, strong wind resistance, and excellent eating quality. ‘Curaré’ is well-suited for backyard food production and agroforestry systems.
