Ginger is a good source of several nutrients, including potassium, magnesium, and vitamin B6. It is also known for its anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties and has been used in traditional medicine to alleviate nausea and reduce pain and inflammation.

๐Ÿ““ Homemade Ginger Beer Recipe
๐Ÿง‚ Ingredients:
  • 2-3 inches fresh ginger root
  • 1 cup organic cane sugar
  • 1/2 cup fresh lemon juice
  • 1/2 cup ginger bug starter (see instructions below)
  • 8 cups filtered water
๐Ÿฅ„ Instructions:
  1. First, make the ginger bug starter: grate 2-3 inches of unpeeled ginger root into a quart-sized jar. Add 1/4 cup organic cane sugar and 2 cups filtered water. Stir well and cover with a cloth or paper towel secured with a rubber band. Leave at room temperature for 2-3 days, stirring once a day. After a few days, you should see bubbles forming on the surface, indicating that the ginger bug is active and ready to use.
  2. Peel and grate another 2-3 inches of ginger root and add it to a large pot with 8 cups of filtered water. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and let simmer for 10 minutes.
  3. Remove the pot from the heat and add 1 cup of organic cane sugar. Stir until the sugar is dissolved, then let the mixture cool to room temperature.
  4. Strain the ginger mixture into a large glass jug or container, discarding the ginger solids.
  5. Add 1/2 cup of fresh lemon juice and 1/2 cup of the ginger bug starter to the ginger mixture. Stir well to combine.
  6. Cover the jug or container with a cloth or paper towel secured with a rubber band, and let sit at room temperature for 2-3 days. Check the mixture daily for signs of carbonation (you should see bubbles forming on the surface), and give it a gentle stir to redistribute the ginger bug.
  7. Once the ginger beer is carbonated to your liking, transfer it to the fridge to slow down the fermentation process. The ginger beer will keep for several weeks in the fridge.
  8. When ready to serve, pour the ginger beer into a glass, and enjoy!

Note: Be careful when opening the bottle or jar, as the ginger beer may be highly carbonated and could potentially spray out.

The price to rent the cabin is $95 per night for up to 2 adults and 2 children. To confirm your booking you must pay a 50% deposit. If we have the availability we'll send you a link to pay your deposit.
