The Malabar Chestnut, also known as the Money Tree, Guiana Chestnut, or Saba Nut, is a tropical tree valued for its edible seeds, striking appearance, and adaptability to both landscape and container growing. In tropical gardens, it grows into a medium-sized shade tree with glossy green leaves and large, showy flowers. The tree produces green, woody seed pods containing large chestnut-like seeds that can be roasted or boiled and eaten. It’s also commonly grown indoors (often braided) as a symbol of good luck and prosperity.
