Description
Coffee Robusta is one of the two main species of coffee cultivated for commercial use, known for its bold flavor and high caffeine content. Native to sub-Saharan Africa, this variety is hardier and more resistant to pests and diseases than its counterpart, Arabica. The plant produces smaller, rounder beans with a more bitter and earthy taste, which is often used in espresso blends or instant coffee due to its strong flavor profile.
Coffee Robusta plants grow as evergreen shrubs or small trees, featuring glossy, dark green leaves and clusters of fragrant white flowers. The beans grow inside red or purple coffee cherries, which are harvested once they ripen. This variety thrives in warmer, low-altitude regions and requires full sun and plenty of moisture.
